ILPA attended the UTIAC Practitioners’ Liaison Group and the LAA’s Civil Contract Consultative Group meetings. We also attended a meeting with the Law Society and the Home Office to discuss options being considered by the Home Office for the asylum interview that would assist with resolving the backlog. We reiterated the importance of considering legal aid funding when making any changes to the procedure, and advised that a meeting with the wider sector would be appropriate.
