Black Lives Matter Roundtable: Starting the Conversation: Addressing Racism in the Immigration Law Sector

Event | Training

This roundtable discussion is open to all members and you can register here

ILPA is committed to tackling institutionalised racism and oppression within the immigration sector. We welcome member feedback and contributions to ensure that we are representative and capture voices from within our community.
This roundtable discussion is intended to be participatory and we invite members to share their ideas and experiences of racial discrimination in the immigration law sector. It is first and foremost a space for discussion and a listening exercise to give black and people of colour the space in which to share their experiences and be heard. This is a non-judgemental space conducive to growth and learning and we expect all experiences shared to be listened to and engaged with respectfully.

This session, in conjunction with our all members survey, will feed into ILPA's anti-racism priorities going forward and will inform the actions taken from the ILPA Black Lives Matter Task group.
This session aims to explore the experiences of black and people of colour working within the immigration sector and address how as a community we can collectively work together to challenge racial discrimination in our places of work.
We will also discuss the racial discrimination that your clients may have been subjected to and the impact this then has on their mental health.
