Mental Health Awareness Week 2021 : Growing Corner 12-05-2021
The theme for this year's Mental Health Awareness Week is 'Nature and the Environment'.
During lockdown many of us have found solace in green spaces, home growing (no matter how small the space) and rebuilding our connection with the natural environment. Here are a whole host of resources that focus on growing food, saving seed and foraging that are perfect for the novice gardener. No matter how small your space, you can begin your journey to growing food. If you have a windowsill try starting with herbs, salad leaves or chilli plants.

Capital Growth is London’s largest food growing network with over 3,000 gardens registered under the scheme. Whether you are growing at home, as part of an allotment, in a community group, or school, you can join for free to receive benefits such as discounts, advice and monthly e-newsletters. You can find our more information about Capital Growth's events here.
Hackney Herbal set out on a mission to show people how to incorporate herbs into their lifestyles, for health and improved wellbeing. The idea came from a desire to create more value out of the herbs that were being grown in private, public and community gardens. You can find more information about their workshops here.
