About the roles and how to apply:

LDI is a multi-award winning leading immigration firm, ranked in band 1 by legal directories.

Our teams in London and New York specialise in all aspects of UK and US immigration and nationality law, acting for a diverse range of clients, from multinational companies to start-ups, families, high net worth individuals and celebrities. We have a strong human rights and appeals practice and are proud of our pro-bono and policy development work.

Known for our strategic approach, LDI’s mission is not only to offer the highest quality of service and representation to our clients but to challenge and shape immigration law and policy. Our lawyers are active contributors to organisations such as ILPA, AILA, the Law Society Immigration Committee and LexisNexisPSL, as well as regular conference speakers and commentators on immigration topics in the media.

We are seeking candidates of the highest calibre for the following roles:

US Attorney (Ref. LDIUSA2021)
Applicants must be admitted as an attorney in good standing to a US state bar. We will consider both experienced junior attorneys and newly qualified candidates.

Solicitor (Ref. LDIUKS2021)
Candidates must demonstrate significant specialist UK immigration experience (which may include pre-qualification experience), acting in both business and personal immigration matters.

Applicants for the solicitor and attorney roles should have a strong academic background and must demonstrate excellent analytical skills, strategic thinking and attention to detail. You will have a clear passion for immigration law, including a readiness to challenge and effect change where appropriate. Exceptional communication and presentation skills are required and we encourage lawyers to engage in wider activities such as business development, networking and public speaking. We expect the highest levels of professionalism, client service and consideration for colleagues.

Paralegals (Ref. LDIUKPL2021)
Holding at least a bachelor’s degree and ideally a relevant law qualification, candidates should be enthusiastic and have a ‘can-do’ approach. Excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and a professional manner are essential. UK immigration law knowledge/experience is desirable however we accept candidates without experience who demonstrate the appropriate skills and aptitudes.

Working directly with a partner or experienced solicitor, paralegals assist in legal research, drafting advice/submissions and enjoy significant client contact (under supervision) as their experience grows.

We offer high quality work and exceptional training with leading lawyers in a supportive and friendly environment. LDI’s technical awareness programme, supported by our excellent PSL team, includes internal and external training courses, frequent technical update meetings and weekly bulletins.

We believe we offer a stimulating, supportive and enjoyable environment for staff at all levels. We offer a range of wellbeing initiatives (previously recognised in the 2019 LexisNexis Legal Awards for Wellbeing) including a comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme.
