ILPA Trustee and liaison for the ILPA Courts and Tribunals and Removals, Detention and Offences Working Group

David has been a trustee at ILPA since 2019. He has specialised in immigration since working as a caseworker at the Immigration Advisory Service in 2006 and at Liberty where he acted on a number of high-profile test cases. Since then he has practised at the Bar, working in immigration and extradition with a particular interest in asylum, human rights and unlawful detention work. He has successfully represented appellants at every level up to and including the European Court of Human Rights.
David is the Trustee Liaison on ILPA’s Courts and Tribunals, and Removals, Detention and Offences Working Groups, and on ILPA’s Editorial Advisory Board.
