Review of Civil Legal Aid (RoCLA)

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) launched a Review of Civil Legal Aid (RoCLA) in January 2023 with a Call for Evidence running from January to February 2024.

ILPA submitted a Response to the RoCLA Call for Evidence on 21 February 2024.

Along with ILPA, organisations from across the immigration and asylum sector submitted extensive evidence to the Ministry of Justice for its Review of Civil Legal Aid. Subsequently, the Ministry of Justice has extended the timeline of the review. The MoJ was initially scheduled to publish its findings from the evidence-gathering phase of the review in March 2024. Now, since the timeline has been extended, the Government’s response to the call for evidence will be in July 2024.

With thanks to Brian Dikoff at Migrants Organise for collating the responses, and to all those who have shared their evidence, the evidence submitted from more than 20 organisations is available to read here.
