Partner at Penningtons Manches Cooper
ILPA Chair of Trustees
Avid supporter of ILPA and an associate member since qualifying in 2006. Serving as ILPA trustee for the last 10 years, also the trustee liaison for the Economic Working Group and an ILPA trainer. Partner at Penningtons Manches Cooper LLP and head of the firm’s private wealth immigration offering. Practice covers all aspects of immigration, European and nationality law. Recognised for expertise in the education sector. Clients range from HNW individuals to multinational organisations as well as education providers. Recommended by various legal directories including Chambers HNW, Legal 500 and Who’s Who. As a trustee, I have been involved in all aspects of ILPA’s governance matters, feeding into ILPA’s long term and short term strategies including more recently COVID19 planning. Have also represented ILPA in numerous meetings with the Home Office, as well as contributing to consultations and submissions. Examples of contributions include response to the White Paper on future immigration system, Front End Services, National Audit Office’s investigation of the Home Office’s response to allegations of cheating in English language tests (TOEIC), COVID19 concessions and the simplification of the immigration rules project. Of the reviews in legal directories I am particularly grateful for recognition from peers “a voice for the business immigration sector” “devotes an awful lot of energy to improving the state of immigration law in the UK”.
