Julie Moktadir

Partner in the Immigration Team at Stone King

ILPA Trustee and liaison for the ILPA Economic Migration and Racial Justice & Equality Working Groups

Julie has been a member of ILPA since 2007 and a Trustee for over five years. She is also Trustee Liaison on the Racial Justice & Equality and the Economic Migration Working Groups.

Julie began her career as an immigration solicitor in Southampton, as a Legal Aid specialist. After a period of working as a consultant, she was appointed Head of Immigration at the Royal College of Nursing, which gave her insight into how a membership organisation runs. During her time there she also lobbied on policy issues, including seeing all nursing positions brought onto the SOL, and completed the Senior Management Programme. She then moved to the national charity IPSEA, as CEO, where she developed an in-depth understanding of running a charity.

Julie joined Stone King in 2017, where she is Partner and Head of the Immigration team. Her varied career enables her to understand the needs of members, as well as supporting the ILPA staff, in providing the best for its members.

I’m a trustee of ILPA because the organisation has been a great support to me throughout my legal career. Now having the opportunity to use my experience and skills to shape the direction of the organisation, and support its development, is really rewarding.
