Description:

The course will course will review the Immigration Rules relating ILR applications for Tier 1 (Entrepreneurs). It aims to provide practical advice on the often confusing documentary requirements in this area. The materials will include

• Genuineness in the context of ILR applications.

• New businesses vs. existing businesses.

• Specified evidence.

• Investment funds.

• Job Creation:

o Forward planning

o Covid-19 exceptions.

• Accelerated ILR applications:

o Job creation; and

o Business income.

• Working with accountants.

The aim of this course is to provide practical insight into making successful ILR applications in the Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) category before the category closes for most applicants April 2025.

Audience:

Immigration practitioners with some experience of the Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) category.

Tutor: Zoe Jacob is a partner at Boodle Hatfield LLP, where she heads the immigration practice. She represents individuals, businesses and institutions in all areas of UK immigration, nationality and asylum law.

She is known for successfully representing HNW and UHNW individuals in unusual and complex matters which often fall outside the Immigration Rules, as well as for representing companies of all sizes in the Skilled Worker and GBM sponsor licence matters.

She also regularly provides strategic advice on sponsor licence compliance matters. She has extensive experience working with independent schools on student sponsor licence matters, and frequently advises businesses on the immigration aspects of corporate transactions.
