The Global Business Mobility routes: What you need to know and don’t need to know

Level: Beginner – Intermediate

Description:

Practitioners will gain practical knowledge of the Global Business Mobility routes. We will cover the most popular and useful routes comprehensively including Senior or Specialist Worker, Graduate Trainee and UK Expansion Worker. An overview of the Service Supplier and Secondment Worker routes will also be provided. Participants will gain an understanding of what is required at each stage of sponsorship and permission application processes.

This session will not cover ongoing sponsor duties. We will not detail sectors covered by each eligible trade agreement under the Service Supplier route.

Tutors: Samar Shams, Changes Immigration Ltd and Joanna Hunt, Fieldfisher

Samar Shams is managing partner at Changes Immigration LTD. Samar assists companies in setting up in the UK and with sponsoring skilled workers. Samar’s experience includes responsibility for immigration knowledge for an international firm in the City. Samar engages with policy makers and stakeholders on immigration issues. She regularly speaks and writes on immigration and future of work topics.

Joanna Hunt is the Director and Head of Immigration at Fieldfisher. She advises on all aspect of immigration law; applications under the Points Based Immigration System and other categories of the Immigration Rules and British nationality law. Her expertise lies with work-based migration and she has a varied client base covering large multi-nationals, SMEs and private clients. She writes extensively on immigration law issues, having published articles in numerous media outlets and journals and she is an expert contributor to the Free Movement blog. She is an experienced public speaker and trainer. Joanna also volunteers with the Project for the Registration of Children as British Citizens (PRCBC). She is also a member of the Law Society’s Immigration Committee.
