On 12 May 2020, ILPA sent the Home Office our updated recommendations, first sent on 21 March 2020, for the handling of the COVID-19 impact on the immigration system. Since then, the situation has progressed significantly and so we produced an updated document (sent to the Home Office on 12 November) with issues that remain outstanding as well as some recent ones that have arisen. This paper was also contributed to by the Law Society’s Immigration Law Committee.

We will review these responses in detail and have a follow up meeting with the Home Office in January 2021.
