The course aims to shed some clarity around the EUSS continuous residence area for pre-settled status holders who want to move to settled status, in light of the IMA judgement and its practical implementation. This course will cover:
1. Continuous residence under the EUSS and periods of permitted absences
2. IMA Judgement
3. Automatic extensions of pre-settled status
4. Automatic upgrades to settled status (including possible future expansion)
5. Potential obstacles in obtaining settled status
6. Curtailment action and proportionality
7. Case studies
8. Questions
Audience:
The session is aimed at solicitors, immigration advisors, immigration charities and those working in the EUSS advice sector.
Type of Course: Overview and update.
This course will not cover curtailment action in detail (due to unknown Home Office policy), how to make late applications under the EUSS, applications made by family members/Joining family members, retained rights of residence, how to challenge a refusal.

Chris works with the EU Delegation to the UK and engages with a range of sector stakeholders to advise EU citizens and their family members on securing their right to stay in the UK post-Brexit.
