ILPA BAME Working Group investigation into Home Office Decision Making

ILPA documents

Following on from ILPA’s survey (ILPA Explores Racism in the Immigration Sector), ILPA are now conducting an exploration into Home Office decision-making and practices. We are particularly interested in identifying patterns and trends that could reveal conscious or sub-conscious discriminatory decision-making by the Home Office. We will also be examining any potential correlations between refusal rates and your client’s ethnicity/gender/nationality/sexuality, which could indicate potential bias and prejudice in Home Office decision making.

With the above in mind, we have put together the following form to enable you to submit information in relation to case/s you have encountered that could be examples of discrimination, institutionalised racism, etc. If you have multiple cases you wish to share with us, please include further details in the comment box at the end of the form, and we may contact you for any further information.

When answering the following questions please do not share identifiable information or Home Office reference numbers. If you are submitting any supporting documents, please ensure all identifiable information is redacted.

Please note we are gathering this data for research purposes only and we will not be advocating on behalf of ILPA members with regards to any clients’ delays and/or refusals.

Please share widely with your colleagues.
