ILPA submitted a response to the Home Office Consultation on Reforming Asylum Support and Enforcing Family Returns on 4 June 2026. Our response, which can be downloaded in full below, raises serious concerns that the proposed changes would undermine access to justice by removing the right to appeal, cause homelessness and destitution for children, families and individuals in some of the most vulnerable circumstances, and place the UK in breach of its international obligations by expanding the use of force against children.
