About the role and how to apply:

The University of Edinburgh is looking for an experienced Immigration Legal Adviser to lead our Staff Immigration Service. This role involves the provision of specialised immigration advice and support to our global community of staff, visitors and their dependants.

Core advice covers sponsored and non-sponsored work routes (in particular Skilled Worker, Temporary Worker (Government Authorised Exchange), Global Talent, academic and other business visitors, EU Settlement Scheme and personal immigration routes.

The University of Edinburgh is one of the most international universities in the UK, both in terms of our student population, but also our diverse staff population, with more than one third coming from outside of the UK. Since 2017, the University has run a Staff Immigration Service to support the increasingly complex immigration landscape facing our staff, visitors and their dependants.

This is a new role which will add to the existing capacity, and a great opportunity to shape the existing service, and work closely with colleagues to improve understanding of the UK immigration rules across the University.
