You’re perfect for this position if you:
• Have an OISC (Level 1 General Immigration)
• Have a degree or similar level qualification that highlights your strong command of English, essential for effective communication in a complex regulatory environment
• Have relevant work experience in public interest or healthcare immigration, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and needs in these sectors (preferred)
• Are motivated, energetic and can work both independently and collaboratively within a team
• Have an excellent command of the English Language critical for liaising with clients, colleagues, and UK government departments on complex immigration matters
• Can manage work pressures effectively, demonstrating the ability to prioritise a demanding workload and handle urgent issues as they arise
• Possess strong organisational skills, with the capability to plan ahead, adhere to key deadlines, and work within strict timelines, ensuring compliance and efficiency
• Are proficient in Microsoft Office and specialised immigration software, enabling you to manage casework and maintain accurate records efficiently
• Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and collaborate with individuals at all levels
The ideal candidate must also be able to understand the boundaries which apply when working in a legal advice environment, and to understand the importance of providing a consistent service to clients.
Your role and responsibilities:
Among other tasks, your main responsibilities will include:
Casework Management:
• Assisting healthcare organisations and public bodies in understanding the visa options available for recruiting skilled workers, such as healthcare professionals, researchers, and support staff
• Evaluating the eligibility of candidates for various visa categories, ensuring they meet the necessary criteria for work in the UK
• Managing the end-to-end process of preparing and submitting visa applications, including documentation, forms, and legal representations
• Tracking the progress of applications, keeping clients informed of any developments and responding to queries from UKVI
• Keeping clients informed about changes in immigration policies, particularly those affecting the public interest and healthcare sectors
Compliance:
• Supporting organisations in obtaining and maintaining sponsor licenses, ensuring compliance with UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requirements
• Conducting regular right-to-work checks to verify that all employees have the legal right to work in the UK, reducing the risk of legal penalties for the employer
• Providing right to work training to employer and give regular updates or any potential changes with the Home Office
• Assisting in preparing for and responding to UKVI audits, ensuring all records and procedures are up-to-date and compliant
Workforce Mobility:
• Working with HR departments to facilitate the recruitment of international talent, including arranging visas for doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
• Providing guidance on the relocation process, including family visas, housing, and settlement services to ensure a smooth transition for new hires
