Thank you to you all for signing up to the Legislation Working Group.
As you will no doubt be aware, the Immigration and Social Security Co-ordination (EU Withdrawal) Bill has been presented in Parliament today and is available here. Various documents relating to the Bill can be found here. The documents relating to the old Bill can be found here. The Bill is almost entirely the same as the old Bill with some minor drafting amendments.
It is unclear exactly when the second reading of the Bill will be. Initially it was supposed to be Monday 9 March but it looks like it won’t be now, but it is likely to be very soon in any event. As a result, we need to move quickly. There will be a conference call tomorrow morning with various NGOs to coordinate around amendments. The focus is mostly going to be on strategy rather than legal analysis. Once we have a clearer idea of the timescale on the Bill we want to host a physical meeting of the working group as soon as possible.
